Position Summary
The Loan Processor is responsible for efficiently and accurately processing
primary residence mortgage loans, ensuring all required documentation is
collected, verified, and prepared for underwriting and closing. This role supports
the lending team by maintaining clear communication with borrowers, loan
officers, and closing agents. In addition to loan processing, the position provides
general assistance with various loan processing duties at the Paris branch.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Residence Loan Processing
• Review new loan applications for completeness and compliance with bank
and regulatory requirements.
• Order and track necessary third-party services including appraisals, credit
reports, title work, flood determinations, and verifications.
• Prepare complete and accurate loan files for underwriting review.
• Monitor loan pipeline to ensure timely progression from application
through closing.
• Communicate proactively with borrowers and loan officers regarding
documentation needs, status updates, and conditions.
• Address underwriting conditions and gather additional required
documentation.
• Coordinate with closing staff and external parties to schedule and prepare
for loan closings.
• Ensure all processing activities adhere to bank policies, compliance
standards, and federal regulations (e.g., TRID, HMDA).
General Loan Processing Duties
• Provide administrative support to loan officers including scheduling,
document preparation, and customer communication.
• Assist with preparing loan documents and disclosures.
• Scan, index, and maintain electronic loan records accurately.
• Respond to customer inquiries in person, by phone, or via email in a
professional and courteous manner.
• Assist with post-closing tasks, file audits, and documentation corrections.
• Perform general support tasks for the loan department and branch as
assigned.
Qualifications
Required
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Proficiency with computers and loan processing software; ability to learn
new systems quickly.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred
• Prior experience in loan processing, mortgage operations, or related
banking role.
• Knowledge of federal lending regulations and compliance requirements.
Work Environment
• Standard office setting at the Paris branch.
